This is our second year offering a Winter CSA share and we are excited to announce that we are extending it the end of February.  A share will include a mix of crops grown in unheated hoop houses or stored in our "root cellar" like coolers.

Here’s a list of the vegetables we expect to have in the winter share: lettuce, carrots, beets, spinach, rutabaga, parsnips, potatoes, brussels sprouts, purple daikon, onions, leeks, garlic, sweet potatoes, winter squash, kale, cilantro, turnips, black radishes, shallots, bok choy, baby salad mixes, arugula, watermelon radishes, micro greens, pea shoots.

Here are some example shares from last year:

Yellow Potatoes, Parsnips, REd Beets, red radishes, pea shoots, baby salad greens, yellow onions, garlic, green cabbage.

This year our winter share will begin in November, and go for 7 weeks until the week before Christmas.  We will then take two weeks off for the holidays and new year, picking back up for 4 pick ups in January and February.  Our January and February shares will be double the amount of goodies and half the amount of pick up days.  Transitioning to an every other week pick up in January and February gives us a bigger harvest window for picking greens (spinach, kale, etc.), since greens can't be harvested when frozen.  This pick up schedule will also simplify things, giving us all a bit more of a winter break.  Since most of our winter food will be stored in our coolers, we figured we might as well send a double share home with you to keep for that second week!  Eggs will be available for purchase during the winter CSA when available.

We are offering a Tuesday pickup in Rockford and Belding as well as a Wednesday pickup in Grand Rapids, all from 4:30pm-6:00pm.

The cost is $375.

In case you are confused about the pickup days, I’ve included them below to mark on your calendars:

November 6th/7th, November 13th/14th, November 20th/21st, November 27th/28th, December 4th/5th, December 11th/12th, December 18th/19th, January 8th/9th, January 22nd/23rd, February 5th/6th, February 19th/20th.
